From the Morellis to the Niccolinis

The roots of Podere Gian Battaglia go back to 1830, when Sabatino Morelli began working these lands as a laborer, forging a bond so strong with the farm that, over the years, he became its owner.

A legacy of love for the land spanning three generations

In the early 1900s, my grandfather Angiolo Niccolini inherited the property from the Morelli cousins. Thanks to his dedication and far-sighted management, the Podere grew so much that, in the 1956-1957 farming year, the Ministry of Agriculture awarded us the prestigious 4th national prize for productivity. Today, I, Andrea Niccolini, carry this story forward with the same pride and with a clear choice: strictly natural production. The secrets of this farmhouse are written in an old family accounting diary, penned in ancient Italian. Every object and every corner of this house tells a story of timeless gestures and passions.

Linked to this family story is also the figure of Novello Cioni, my mother's paternal uncle and a symbol of a generation with a deep bond to the land.

The wine “101 - One Hundred One", produced by the winery ”Dalle Nostre Mani", is dedicated to him. The wine’s name recalls the remarkable age reached by Novello, who up to 101 years shared his knowledge with Giulio Wilson Rosetti and Lapo Tardelli, founders of the winery.

The “One Hundred One”was created to pass on this memory and enhance an ancient agricultural heritage. More than a tribute to one man, it is a salute to a generation of farmers who knew how to care for the land with respect.

An authentic retreat steeped in farming tradition

For three generations, the Niccolini family has cared for this corner of paradise. Since my ancestors moved from Lamporecchio to Massarella, we have devoted ourselves to preserving the secrets and gestures of “farm craft.” We keep this small cultivation of vegetables, legumes, vineyards and olive groves in absolute respect for the land. In the warm season you can stroll through our garden, choose and buy your favorite vegetables to enjoy super-fresh straight at the table. A true holiday in the Tuscan countryside, where you can rediscover nature’s rhythms.
